Gallic Gifts: The Irish College Paris, Charity and the Lazarists, 1858-1945

I am pleased to share with my peers in Vincentian history news of an upcoming exhibition, curated by me and which will open in Paris during the Journées du patrimoine on 20/21 September 2014. The exhibition, based on evidence I collected during  a six weeks' research fellowship in the Irish College, Paris, will present visual and textual exhibits from the Vincentians' administration of the Irish College, Paris (1858-1945), with a particular focus on the Vincentian community's wide-ranging provision of relief, charity, shelter and refuge through the College premises in Paris during periods of strife in the city ( such as the Franco-Prussian War).

Sean,

This is very exciting news.  I've always wanted to be in Paris for the Journees du patrimonie.  Congratulations!
